Club Med continues to renew itself and grow, now it is the turn of its beautiful resort in the Bahamas.
It is believed that during the first expedition of Christopher Columbus to the New World, the Island of San Salvador was the first land sighted and visited October 12, 1492, he named it San Salvador, after Christ the Savior. Columbus records indicate that the native inhabitants of the territory Lucaya, who named this island Guanahani , means \u201csweet and gentle\u201d.<\/p>

Today, thanks to its numerous sandy beaches, thriving main industry in the island is tourism. About 1,200 people reside on San Salvador Island and its principal community is Cockburn Town, the seat of local government. The Club Med resort \u201cColumbus Isle\u201d, is located just north of Cockburn Town.
